My Varsity Girl!

Melissa has been working so hard the last few months to get her backhand spring down for cheer tryouts the end of May and she did it!! Only thing was the cheer coach decided to not let anyone know whether they made JV or Varsity until cheer camp in July...then, we realized the cheer coach made cheer camp for the same week that EFY was, that is "Especially For Youth" and is very hard to get into, especially the Provo, Utah one at BYU....so no question there, she WAS going to EFY. We then had to break the news to the coach that she wasn't going to cheer camp and just hope that she wouldn't punish Melissa , which she didn't because the day she went to EFY, she found out that she made the Flagstaff High Varsity cheer squad! We are SO proud of her and so thankful that she learned that when you do the right thing you will be blessed!!
YOU GO GIRL!!!

Happy Birthday Audra!!

Today is Audra's 29th birthday. She is so special to me as she was the one that set me and my husband up and the rest is history! She has always been so nice to me and my kids, always remembering their birthdays and making special occasions really special. She always puts that extra something in all she does. She is a great mom and a great friend as you can see by visiting her blog she has a long list of friends and gets together with them often to nurture her  friendships. She is such a fun person to chat with and we always end up talking about our husbands who are brothers and how similar they are! I am so thankful for her example and for her testimony as it has helped Melissa gain her own. Thank you Audra for always coming through for me whenever asked and for being that "special" sister. I hope you have a very SPECIAL day!

Our 4th in Laguna

Taylor, Natalie and Macey @ Wild Rivers
going down the 200 stairs to the beach
Cannon, Sophie, Ashlyn, and Trenton diggin' the hole
Roc and Zane having some fun
The fireworks off the balcony at Brian's parents house

We decided to go to Laguna Beach for 4th of July and we had the best time. Even though it was a short visit, it was so much fun. We got there on a Wed. night and went to Wild Rivers on Thurs. We had a great time there even though it was pretty hot. We lucked out and got a couple cabana's for a hefty price but they were all reserved and good ol' Mason went and asked if there were any available and we got the last 2 that they keep for emergencies. I guess our party of 20 was an "emergency" We ended up all ordering food from our cabana lady and the service was so bad we ended up getting it all comped. That was a deal cause 1 hot dog was 6.95!
The next day was the 4th and some family members went down and got our spot on the beach in 3 Arch ( where Brian's parents live) at 4 am and there were already people down there getting their spots too. It was pretty crowded but it was fun and the kids dug a huge hole in the sand. Claire didn't last long but I think Brian was happy to take her back to the house since he's not a real beach lovin' kinda guy. We went shopping on Saturday at Spectrum and enjoyed some of the shops I never get to go to. It's probably good I don't live there, since I'd never get tired of shopping and I'd probably go bankrupt! We visited Grandparents on Sunday after church and had smores at a bonfire on the beach that night. On Monday we sent Melissa off with Ashlyn to EFY in Provo. Thanks Lonnie and Debbie for taking her to the airport so early in the morning, letting us stay at your home and for always being so gracious. We love you guys! P.S. please don't ever move!
