Melissa's Prom night

Yesterday was Melissa's first prom night. Unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs and doing pictures was a little difficult. She had a great time and my good friend Di took some awesome pictures that I will be posting later but these are the ones I had time to get as I was video taping too, putting on boutineers, holding cell phones and cameras. 

Claire turns 1 year old!

Today is my sweet baby Claire's First Birthday.  I made her a special birthday tu-tu and couldn't wait to get it on her after lunch and go outside to take some pictures, although the minute I put it on her she started tugging and crying to get it off. I did happen to get a few good ones though. We then came in and she got into a swim diaper to do her next favorite thing..swim. Brian took her and Zane in the jacuzzi. She really enjoyed herself and will be even more excited tonight to have her very own birthday cake to destroy. While I was making it today I was using the hand mixer and when I turned it off Zane says from the computer, "mom, don't ever do that again" "what, use the mixer..why?" He then says, "cause it just breaks my heart" I thought it was so funny. 

Claire has accomplished many things in her one year of life and is such a joy and a blessing. She loves to open and close cabinets and pull everything out of them. She loves going up and down the stairs..yes, down too and my stairs are scarry even for a grown up walking on 2 legs!  She loves to play games with Brian especially the "hit daddy in the head with the remote game" She just laughs and laughs..it is so cute to hear. She loves her siblings and will go to them over me sometimes. She loves dum dums (lollipops) and tearing up magazines. Oh, and she loves watching Dancing With The Stars too!  She hasn't started walking yet so look for that in the near future...Happy Birthday Claire, we are so excited to be able to be a part of your life and watch you grow up.

My parents came up for a quick visit on their way to Las Vegas. We got news that Brians cousin Russ died in his sleep at age 36. Audra and Tim welcomed a new baby boy into the world on the 21st. We attended a beautiful funeral for Russ. We spent some time with Brian's sister Carrie and her family. It has been a crazy week and not expected to slow down as we are getting ready for the last week of school, Claire turns 1 on friday, and Melissa is going to Prom on Saturday..Whew!!!

So Zane has been obsessed with his hair lately. He thinks his hair should look just like his cousins Roc and Jett. Now this means that everytime I go to brush it he says " make sure you do it like my cousins Roc and Jett's!" It was getting a little outta control and I finally took him in for a trim. He made sure that she didn't cut it too short. He has been so hilarious lately with his conversations with me asking about everything from girls and boys "parts" to why Heavenly Father made bugs? I will really miss him when he starts preschool in the fall. He has been a joy to have at home with me.

Brian was graciously invited by his brother Tim to go on a cruise. One that his brother won and was unable to have his wife go with him as she is very pregnant and having a baby soon. So, why didn't he invite his siter in law (me) instead? I don't know!! ha ha That would be odd huh? But none the less, Brian had a great time enjoying a week of sun and fun in the Bahamas. Here are a few of the pictures he took which amazed me that he even took the camera out once,  since I am usually the one in charge of pictures. Thanks Tim for a week of fun! Now it's time for me to plan some vacation time....ha ha.

Pantry's and parallel parking

The past couple of weeks I have been trying to get organized and I started with the pantry. I had a great friend of mine come over and get me started. It took me about 3 hours or so. I am loving this feeling so much and have slowly worked my way around the house. My craft room/laundry room was next. I am doing a garage sale this weekend with other homes in the neighborhood and hope to make some BIG bucks! I'm just kidding, I am really hoping to just get rid of the "clutter".

On another note, Meissa had some much needed practice parallel parking practice over the weekend. I was hoping Brian would put out our 2 trash cans for guidancne but he actually parked my car and his work truck out on the street and had her practice. See who's in the car? Brian..he's got way more patience than me. What a great Dad. She actually didn't do too bad and never bumped my car once!
