We had a really fun 4th of July weekend and had Brian's sister Carrie and her family up for a couple days. Our first day was a bit of a disaster as we went to the "birds of Prey" show at the Arboretum but missed it by a few minutes so we thought we'd come back at 2 after lunch but I guess with 10 kids and 4 adults a "quick" lunch is outta the question unless you do fast food. We skipped the show and decided to go to the Aquaplex. We got there, paid our fees and then they closed the pool because of lighting in the area. We thought that was not possible since it's an indoor complex but they have slides that go out of the building so we waited 2 hours in a boring hallway with 10 kids and finally decided to go get ice cream..after that we DID end up going back since we paid and they wouldn't refund, only give "vouchers", so it ended up ok but a long, long day. The next day we went to the birds of prey show. I think I liked it better than the kids..Zane kept asking for "treats" and could care less about what the guy was saying. That night we brought dinner to the fireworks show at the mall and thought how great can this be? ..but we were greatly amazed as it was close to an hour display and we even packed up and took off early to miss all the traffic. It was really fun visiting with them all and will be excited to see them in a few days for our trip to Costa Rica...I can't wait! (no kids this time) whooo Hoo!

HEIDI! Surprise! I haven't been blog snooping for 6 months now! You should be honored you are on of my firsts! I can't believe you got scammed at the aquaplex. You should have pushed them down the dark wet slide. Just for fun! I wanted to go to the birds of prey show but I thought I would be more excited than the kids. Costa Rica? I'm jealous! I'd take going to the grocery store with no kids at this point! miss you much and love you tons!
