With all the commotions of late I missed blogging about my FAVORITE past time "CAMPING". ANyone that knows me knows I absolutely HATE camping, really, people choose to pack up a truck load of stuff including the kitchen sink, drive for hours to get to a spot and set up a tent to sleep in on hard ground with pine cones and rocks in your back, dirt everywhere, no showers, strange noises including possible bears, skunks, and things that sting like wasps and mosquitos! I really could write a book on why camping is just not my thing but I was a good sport and went along to meet Brian's side of the fam near Payson somewhere. We got there at 10:30 pm because Brian just couldn't miss his softball game. Thank Goodness for Mason, he was on the lookout for us and flashed us down so we could find where they were. He even helped unload all our stuff and set up our tent. (thank you Mason) The kids were so excited and I figured I could set aside my dislike for camping so they could have some fun and hang out with some of their cousins. I guess a bear had attacked a camp near by the night before because some REALLY SMART girl scouts put all their food in a tent and wouldn't you know that bear was hungry?? the next morning as I was sitting in the camp chair in all my beautiful glory, a forest ranger comes driving up and unhooks a bear trap thing and leaves it right there within throwing distance of our camp. Needless to say I was a little uneasy to say the least. The bean bag tournaments were pretty fun. Also the creek and watching the kids fish was enjoyable. It was nice to see Brian's family, including his dad Ron have a good time. I probably won't be going camping again for a long time since I have only gone with Brian twice in 10 years but it was a good time and I am thankful for the experience........sorta.
