The Campbell Family

My parents came up to my house on a Sunday to watch our little kids until we arrived home from California with Melissa and Natalie after our vacation. The next morning my Dad was feeling really bad and said these "flare ups" have been happening for awhile now. He didn't feel like eating anything and wanted to go. So i prepared him a "vomit bag" and off they went...my mom driving. It took them over 4 hours to get to the urgent care in Gilbert because my mom had to stop so many times for him to throw up. He didn't even want her to drive the car saying it hurt too much. Well that urgent care just gave him a few tests, a shot of morphine for pain and sent him away (typical) next day again they went to urgent care, repeat same process. Finally they decided on the emergency room at Banner Gateway and there they found he had numerous gall stones and a very bad gallbladder. They admitted him and that night did an ERCP or something,put him out and went down with a device that sucks all the stones and infection out. (my brother joked that the doctor was a member of the "taliban") I think he was muslim since he was wearing a turban. So, next day they go in to take out his gallbladder and all went well until he was coming out of anesthesia and couldn't breathe on his own. They stuck the ventilator in and out 2 more times and he ended up needing it to stay in until he was able to breathe on his own. That night he was in ICU and it was one scary experience. He is better now but still having problems with his foley and going to the restroom. I have to say I was pretty scared that my Dad wasn't going to make it and I am so glad he is ok. GET WELL DAD!
